Kansi and Help for Heroes
Earlier this year the team at kansi were contacted by Steve Mcnamara regarding Help for heroes and the Big Battlefield Ride.
Two of Steve's sons have actively served in Afghanistan with the youngest of his boys clearing routes of IED's as we speak. Steve's elder son was hurt in action last year and in an effort to continue to support the troops he got involved with the Help for Heroes charity in their effort to raise money through a sponsored bike ride.
At kansi we wanted to show our support for this great cause and Steve wanted to approach the ride from a different angle. To complete the ride would see them covering 450 miles through France and to make this challenge that bit harder good friend and soldier Louis wanted to complete the ride on a kansi folding bike.
The ride took place over 6 days following this route:
Day 1 – Portsmouth to Le Harve
Day 2 – Le Havre to Bayeux
Day 3 – Bayeux to Caen
Day 4 – Caen to Lisieux
Day 5 – Liseux to Evreux
Day 6 – EVREUX TO PARIS
Louis managed to complete the full distance, all the time keeping up with the pack of riders on standard road bikes. Together they raised over £7000 for Help for Heroes with the ride itself raising over 1 million pounds in total.
We would like to congratulate Steve and Louis and all the other riders that took part in the Big Battlefield ride, we are pleased we were able to support such a great cause.

Demonstrating the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling, the week aims to get people to give cycling a go all over the UK, whether this be for fun, as a means of getting around to the local shops, school, the library or just to visit friends.”

Running almost parallel with Bike Week is Green Transport Week and this year’s campaign has a large focus on cycling to work.
“The aim of Green Transport Week 2011(17th -26th June) is to raise awareness of the impact travel has on the environment, to make people stop and think about the way they travel on every journey and to send a message to the government that the people of Great Britain care about green transportation issues.”

Kansi F20 folding bike revealed!
Over the last few weeks we have teased you on twitter and facebook about the latest addition to kansi’s range of folding bikes. On Thursday we finally revealed our new model on bikeradar.com and the response was fantastic. On Saturday the 11th of June at the London Nocturne ‘kansi Folding Bike Race’ we allowed the public to see the F20 for the first time and they were in awe of our new model.
So now we thought it was time to share it on our website and let you see some more up close photo’s of the F20.

At kansi we like to do things a little differently and the F20 is another example of this, folding bikes can be cool and we think that our range of kansi folding bikes proves this.
Stay tuned for more information on the F20 and be sure to follow us on twitter @KansiUK or like us on Facebook for all the latest news in the world of kansi.
Folding Bike Race returns to the London Nocturne supported by kansi
The crowd pleasing Folding Bike Race returns to the IG Markets London Nocturne on June 11th with new British folding bike brand kansi confirmed as the race sponsor.

The Folding Bike Race has been a part of the Nocturne since its conception in 2007 and has grown in popularity each year. Part of the success of the race is the ‘Le Mans’ style start where the suited competitors run to their folded bikes to unfold them and begin the race.
Over 100 competitors are set to take to the start line in 2011 and the race is expected to be more exciting and intense than ever:
“We are expecting a very fast and competitive final this year”, commented Event Director James Pope. “We will have more riders in the field than ever before, including greater numbers of team entries and international competitors, which should give the race an interesting dynamic.”
“We are very excited to be working with kansi” he continued. “The kansi range of bikes has been conceived and designed in the UK. The strong focus towards the quality of the design and the ride makes them the perfect partner for the Nocturne and will provide a fitting prize for the race winner.”

kansi Brand Manager Adam Dayson said:
“The IG Markets London Nocturne is an exciting opportunity for kansi as we continue to develop the brand in the UK market place. The Folding Bike Race has captured the imagination of the public and the popularity of the Nocturne will enable us to engage with our target audience in the heart of the capital.”
“We’ll be showcasing our kansi range at the event and will be providing some extra attractions for spectators on our stand.”
The kansi Folding Bike Race will be made up of two heats of three laps leading to a grand final of five laps. Only a few places are left with online registration open on www.londonnocturne.com.

The eclectronica of Pandora’s Jukebox samples the delights of the more perverse and moody side of dance music, making for a beautiful, sometimes surreal and eminently danceable experience.
The Time and Space Machine is Richard Norris from Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve, a massively influential psychedelic edit and re-issue outfit. Richard began releasing tracks as The Time and Space Machine, to take remixing and re-editing one stage further by releasing original music working with groups such as Primal Scream, Silver Columns, Doves and many more.
